Forest Park Police, Georgia Are Giving Away Free Steering Wheel Locks For Kia Owners

Forest Park Police, Georgia is teaming up with Kia to giveaway free steering wheel locks to people who live in the city and own a specific model of Kia car. This is to help prevent thefts of these vehicles.

Note – All items are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Here are the Kia models that are eligible for a free steering wheel lock:

  • Kia Optima (2011-2021)
  • Kia Sorento (2011-2021)
  • Kia Soul (2011-2021)
  • Kia Sportage (2012-2022)

These models are being targeted by thieves because they are easier to steal than some other cars. You can pick up the lock at Forest Park Police Department headquarters, located at 320 Cash Memorial Blvd during business hours (Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.).

The police also recommend some tips to help prevent car theft in general:

  • Park in a well-lit area with cameras.
  • Lock your car doors and windows.
  • Look around before getting in and out of your car.
  • Don’t leave valuables in your car, especially if they can be seen from outside.
